The Sunne of York in Splendour
Williams, Steve
Edward IV is King of England by right and by victory on the battlefield.
Former King Henry VI and Queen Margaret plan and plot to take away his throne. They are supported by Lancastrian Lords who have sworn loyalty to King Henry together with the Queen’s French relatives and friends, and the rebellious Scots.
Treachery lurks closer to home as his cousin Warwick and even his brother George, Duke of Clarence, turn against him and he has to flee to Burgundy for his life. Yet he returns, reclaims his kingdom and is King once more.
The wheel of fortune turns, and turns again
Everything remains at stake but slowly, and surely, he strengthens his hold on the throne of England.
The sun of York is seen in all its splendour.
